I just got back from Minnesota and I really don't want to unpack. I've been tattooing at the same shop for the last 4 years and all I was given was one week of vacation a year. It was all about the money and your work was maybe a close second. Well doing this year of guest spots and conventions is probably the best thing I can do for myself as an artist. I've learned that the less I have the better off I will be. No more heavy compressors and air powered tattoo machines for me on the road. If I can't fit my tools in a backpack then I have to much. I want to spend the time I have in these places focusing on my art and the people that I meet, not on how I'm going to pack my machines and tools into a 50 pound suitcase.
I'll be home for a week then I'm off to Baltimore. I'll post a tattoo I did the other day even though it isn't done, but what ever is.
